(Frankfurt, 25.09.2024) Another impressive success in 2024: GS1 once again honors a Markant Group project. The ECR Award 2024 was presented yesterday evening at the ECR Days in Bonn. Samira Schilli, Project Manager Markant Services International GmbH, accepted the award for the new ProductWizard service in the “Innovation Excellence” category together with project partners and colleagues.
The ECR Award is presented annually to companies that set up outstanding and innovative cross-company cooperation projects. The jury, made up of renowned representatives from retail, industry, science and the press, uses an evaluation scheme to assess the top 3 candidates, who then present their projects at a jury meeting. The winners in the three categories are then determined: Collaboration Excellence, Sustainability Excellence and Innovation Excellence.
Christian Au (Developer ProductWizard and Co-Founder retail.ai GmbH), Mark Michaelis (Managing Director Markant Services International GmbH), Samira Schilli (Project Manager), Jérome Erdmann (Head of Master Data Services), Johannes Seigel (Product Owner ProductWizard), as well as project partners from Mondelēz traveled to Bonn for the award ceremony.
The ProductWizard service enables manufacturers and retailers to generate individual target group and channel-specific product descriptions (brand messages) at the touch of a button with the help of generative artificial intelligence. What previously had to be thought up individually, entered manually and then edited can now be created automatically for the entire range in a fraction of a second using AI. The basis for this is product data from the GDSN network.
Under the guiding principle of “cooperation creates innovation”, an intuitively operable product was created in a short development period with the project partners. Thanks to the high level of mutual trust and commitment, a use case for generative AI was jointly tested and elaborated on a greenfield site.
ProductWizard supports manufacturers and retailers in the provision of digital product texts for various target channels (master data exchange, advertising, online store, etc.). Be it product descriptions, advertising texts or product highlights: The service significantly simplifies the provision of high-quality electronic product information and thus also accelerates the “time to market” aspect of the value chain.
